Seriously Sassy - Maggi Gibson

In this post, I am going to tell you about Maggi Gibson's 'Seriously Sassy' Book 1.
It is an absolutely AMAZING book! For those who are fans of 'Cathy Cassidy' and 'Jacqueline Wilson', you will adore this book.

Blurb:

Thirteen-year-old Sassy is a true twenty-first century girl. She's puzzling out the mysteries of parents, boys and why people can't be more like dolphins, and confronting big questions like...

Can she become a singer-songwriter and save the world too? (More importantly, can she get Dad to pay for a demo?)

And does sharing a chocolate chip muffin with Magnus Menzies mean true love, or just a mid-morning snack...?

I personally thought this book was AMAZING and I am sure you will think that too, but only if your into these books.
It would rate this a ***** - 5 STAR!!

I hope you buy this book and enjoy it as much as I did.

Gothic Horror Story, Paragraph 2 and 3.

This is Paragraph two and three of my Gothic Horror Story, they are only small but I hope you enjoy it. Remember to leave comments on what you think of it,  you could say what I could improve, and also what you like about it.

I turned back to face Rex, but he wasn’t there. I gasped and turned to face to house again. I looked just in time to see Rex disappearing into a small hole, leading into the house.
“No, Rex, “I cried, “Don’t go in there.” But it was too late, he wouldn't hear me and he probably wouldn’t listen to me, in fact he probably didn’t even understand me. I sighed. The only way to get him back was to go into the house.
I carefully made my way down the hill, slipping and sliding on the muddy grass, and it really didn’t help with the rain pouring down, making it even more wet and slippery.
I finally got to the bottom and reached a large iron gate. That wasn’t there before; I could have sworn that gate was NOT there before. I shrugged and turned. There was a small hole leading to the other side of the gate, small enough to fit an eight month old puppy in it, Rex must have gotten past by digging that. I shook my head and faced the gate again. The gate was rusty, and the paint chipped in some places, it was a very old gate, that’s all I’m saying. I pushed it slightly and it slowly creaked open. I looked behind me and then started walking towards the small wooden door.

I looked down at the small brass handle. I slowly reached for it, my hand trembling violently. I gripped the handle and started turning it slowly.
I slowly turned it, my heart in my throat, wondering what was on the other side.
It was nearly there, and I waited for the slow creak of the door, which usually happens at a time like this. I gave the door a push and stood back.
Nothing happened.
The door didn’t open. It was locked. I gave a small sigh of relief; nothing was forcing me to go in there now.
But then I remembered I had a small hair clip in my hair that could work. I sighed as the feeling came back. The feeling that made want to go in there, I obviously didn’t but it was like something was forcing me to.
I inserted the small hair clip into the key hole and rattled it about, until I heard a faint click. But the door didn’t open on its own. That was a relief, but then again I had to open it myself.
I slowly pushed it open. Darkness swept over me, covering my body, from head to toe. I slowly crept into the house. I could see nothing but darkness, there was darkness everywhere I went. It was quiet but I was not alone. I could feel something lurking around in the shadows, although I didn’t know what it was, or even where about it was, I could just feel presence of something, something bad.

Thanks for reading it.

  - LOL!! Frankenstein's Monster

Fact: Did you know that the person who created Frankenstein's monster was called Frankenstein, so the monster isn't actually called Frankenstein, it's called Frankenstein's monster.

'The Chocolate Box Girls' Series By Cathy Cassidy

Hello,

Jessica here. In this post, I will be writing about the two books in 's 'The Chocolate Box Girls' Series. It's a brand new series about the five sisters, each book about a different sister.
The ones out so far, are called: Cherry Crush, and Marshmallow Skye. The first one out was Cherry Crush, and Marshmallow Skye has just come out.

I have read both books and they were both amazing, I just could not put them down.

So, Cherry Crush...

Cherry Costello’s life is about to change forever. She and Dad are moving to Somerset where a new mum and a bunch of brand-new sisters await. And on Cherry’s first day there her head is turned by the gorgeous Shay Fletcher.
But Shay already has a girlfriend, Cherry’s new stepsister, Honey. Cherry knows her friendship with Shay is dangerous – it could destroy everything. But that doesn't mean she’s going to stay away from him ...

Read the book to find out what happens, it's AWESOME I'm telling you.

So, Marshmallow Skye...

Skye and Summer Tanberry are identical twins, and Skye loves her sister Summer more than anyone in the world. They do everything together, but lately Skye's been feeling like Second Best - it's the story of her life. And when her friend Alfie confesses he's fallen for Summer, not her, it hurts.
Skye wants to be her own person, but with an effortlessly cool twin, how can she? Will Skye ever step out of Summer's shadow and find her own chance to shine?

Again, read the book to find out what happens. It's an AMAZING book, I'm telling you.
I hope you buy the book, and enjoy it as much as I did.

Gothic Horror Story, Paragraph 1

At my school, in English, we have been learning about Gothic Horror Stories. And as the end of topic assessment, we had to write a Gothic Horror Story, and I decided to post the first paragraph of my story on here. So, I hope you enjoy it.

It was a chilly evening, the sky was a pale pink with only a few clouds. I decided to take my eight month old Alsatian, Rex, out for a walk. We set off down the quiet street. We were alone and it was starting to get darker. The street-lamps flickered, sending shadows dancing along the walls.
We turned the corner and carried on walking, until we got to a small wooden bench. I carefully tied Rex to a lamppost, and then sat down to tie my shoelace.
The next thing I knew, Rex was free of his lead, running off wild down the street. His tail wagged round the corner and I ran, following him. I tried to catch him, reaching out for him, but he was too fast and kept escaping me. I was out of breath, panting hard, my heart hammering against my chest, but I carried on running, I didn't want Rex to escape, we had only just got him.
He led my down a small alley and down another lonely street, and then up a small hill.
And then, he stopped.
He just stopped, he sat down on the muddy grass, looking up at the sky.
I ran over to him, and started stroking him, brushing his fur, not noticing where he had led me. It was when a crack of thunder rumbled in the distance, I decided to look around. I stopped stroking him and looked up.
My mouth dropped open. A large, old house stood at the other side of the hill. One side was a pile of burnt rubble, while the other had ivy growing up the walls, crawling all over it like fingers.
The windows were smashed, some of them boarded, and some of them with long scarlet curtains billowing out from them, in the wind.
Another crash of thunder rumbled in the distance and I looked up to the sky. The sun had disappeared and grey clouds covered the sky like a blanket of dust. Rain slowly came pouring down, and I knew a storm was near.

That was the first paragraph of my story. Please leave comment on it, if there is anything I could improve, or if there is something that you like. I would love to hear what you think of it. I may post the second paragraph soon.

The Emerald Atlas review

Hello,

It's Jessica here. In this blog, I will tell you why I recommend 'The Emerald Atlas', by John Stephens.

Here's the Blurb:

Kate, Michael, and Emma have been in one orphanage after another for the last ten years, passed along like lost baggage.
Yet these unwanted children are more remarkable than they could possibly imagine. Ripped from their parents as babies, they are being protected from a horrible evil of devastating power, an evil they know nothing about.

Until now.

Before long, Kate, Michael, and Emma are on a journey to dangerous and secret corners of the world...a journey of allies and enemies, of magic and mayhem.  And—if an ancient prophecy is correct—what they do can change history, and it is up to them to set things right.

The Emerald Atlas brims with humour and action as it charts Kate, Michael, and Emma's extraordinary adventures through an unforgettable, enchanted world. It is an amazing book and I absolutely loved reading it.

If you are into Action Packed time travelling adventures, then this is the book for you. I bet you would really enjoy this, I would definitely recommend it to you.
I would give this book a 5 Star as there is nothing bad to say about it, I enjoyed reading it and I couldn't put it down from start to finish. There was just surprises everywhere, which made it even more interesting.

Thanks for reading my blog. Please leave comments and I hope you buy the book and enjoy it as much as I did.
